What’s UP JAPAN! 11/10 ONAIR

 11/10 What’s Up Japan
Hello everybody, it’s the second week in November.
Time for some great Japanese Sake. Rice wine.
Sake is made from fermented rice, so since rice is harvested in October and November,
the newest batch of Japanese Sake start to hit the market in December.
Sake is produced all over Japan.
Not all sake is the same! It’s like wine, each area has a distinct taste.
And there are literally hundreds of makers throughout Japan.
When you travel throughout Japan ask for the local sake.
Drink it hot or warm or cold or on the rocks. It’s a very versatile drink.
Here is a great site on the net to learn about this wonderful drink.
During many opening celebrations the Japanese like to perform a ceremony called Kagami Warei where the break open a barrel of sake and pass around the contents to all the participants.
It is called Tagami Wari.
Here is a great site with some explanations.
